Alex Jacob wins U.S. Poker Championship

Poker star Alex Jacob won the 2006 United States Poker Championship Main Event, obtaining $878,000 and his first major title. This victory solidifies his place as one of the rising poker stars. In just one year, Jacob has won more than $1.6 million.

Until this moment, his best performance had been known to be his second place in the tournament World Poker Tour Foxwoods Poker Classic Main Event. He also was a part in two final tables at the World Series of Poker during last summer.

To win this desired prize, Jacob had to defeat 261 players, among the are included important names of the great world of poker, at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, where the event took place.
