Norwegian poker player Andreas Hoivold, who made it to the Poker Million final last December, has won a European Poker Tour title. The player, who entertained thousands of fans at the TV poker show, turned professional only seven months ago.
The first EPT played in Germany featured a large field with many renowned poker stars, who generated a huge prize pool. The last twenty players included Ben Grundy, Jonny Lodden, Erik Lindberg and Andreas Hoivold. Luck finally smiled to Hoivold and he took home the EPT Dortmund title.
With the trophy in one hand and a suitcase with the $900,000 prize in the other, the Norwegian player smiled and answered the questions of the media. "Pocket change!", he joked when he was asked about the huge jackpot.
Cristiano Blanco finished in third place while Sebastian Ruthenberg and Gunnar Rabe ended third and fourth respectively.
