ESPN will transmit the final table of the World Series of Poker. It will take place July 17th and will be available through Pay Per View (PPV) and online-video stream on ESPN.com.
It is the second time that ESPN transmits live to those that purchase the PPV service. The cost is $ 19,95. Those that do not hire the service will have to wait until October, when delayed coverage of the whole tournament will conclude.
Live coverage will include interviews with champions of past tournaments and bracelet winners from the 2007 edition. Innovation is based on the interaction alternatives available. “We are focused on delivering a unique viewer experience with access to players, commentators and information,” said senior producer Jamie Horrowitz.
Viewers will be able to establish contact with the tournament, which will take place in Las Vegas. There will be an SMS service to vote for who will be eliminated next, and questions will be received by e-mail. Hosts Ali Nejad and Phil Gordon will select some and answer them during the broadcast.
