The gambling site that sponsors the soccer team Sevilla FC, has joined forces with journalists and personalities related to the sports club, in order to share their love for the game. The site has brought together important sporting journalists in the Sevilla stadium, to teach them how to play poker. This is the first time that this company organizes Master Classes in Spain, and they decided to do it in Sevilla due to their tight relation with the soccer team they sponsor.

The Club’s commission, as well as some soccer players, have shown their support to the company by participating in the event, that has the intention of making the game of poker a little bit more known.

There are about 100 million poker players currently active in the world, of which about 20,000 are Spanish and that number gets bigger every day. In 1970 the first world poker tournament took place and 38 people signed in to participate. Twenty-one years later, in 2001, and with 613 players having signed in, a Spanish player won, Juan Carlos Mortensen. And so, the popularity of poker began in Spain.
