Jamie Gold’s lawyers announced that they have agreed to a court injunction that freezes half of the $12 million prize that Gold obtained as winner of the 2006 World Series of Poker. Gold was recently sued by Bruce Crispin, a Los Angeles executive, for an alleged deal to split the winnings.

The object of the injunction, to be signed by U.S. District Court Judge Roger L. Hunt, is to prevent the money from leaving the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the place where the tournament took place. The money should remain there until the case is closed.

According to Leyser, he paid Gold’s $10,000 entry fee and agreed to help him find celebrities for the main event and, in exchange, Gold agreed to share the prize money with Leyser. In his claim, Leyser said that he honored the deal but Gold refused to give him half the winnings.
