The 59-year-old Newark native, John Ghiloni, won $14,000 after spending only $1,000 and beating 1,806 people in a Texas Hold’em tournament that took place at the Reo Casino in Las Vegas and gave him the opportunity to play at the WSOP.

Poker popularity continues to increase and each year more and more people register to play at the famous poker tournament. Ghiloni played 22 hours in two days to win his prize. He gave one half to his wife and with his half he is going to enter next year’s competition.
